A VERY bad experience. They mis-quoted to repair our security gates. They even sent one of their own employees to survey / price the job. I raised concerns before they started about how long / how many people it would take, but they ignored those. They turned up to do the job, which was to replace some sensors, repair a will and fix the gate. They only did the easiest 1/3 of the job. They then didn't communicate for weeks, and then sent a revised quote for approximately 1100gbp to replace the gate motor and refused to repair the wall where the gate motor was mounted. I consistent felt they were trying to make the maximum revenue for minimum effort. For a security company they paid ZERO attention to security, for weeks and weeks ans weeks they didnt even secure the original defective gates. A MUCH better quality local tradesman repaired the gates for less than 200 gbp in less than a day. They are some of the worst value and most unprofessional people I've ever dealt with.
I moved into a house in which the previous owner had an alarm system installed by Fortress. Having never used it in all the time we had been in the house it randomly started to go off in the night. We knew the codes so could turn it off; however we were not setting the alarm, so could not understand why it continued to happen. This happened for 4 nights in a row. I phoned Fortress to ask if they could explain the sequence on the controller so I could work out why it kept setting itself to on. The operator on the phone was very unhelpful and said that I had to get an engineer out at an unknown cost ( starting at 57 + vat for the call out). I said I knew the code and all I need was a quick explanation so I could not it going off in the night. She insisted that it had to be an engineer. I told her there were other alarm companies in Ayrshire ( think where the Greeks might start ;) ) that I had worked with before that were much more helpful. All this has served to do is lose Fortress someone that would have probably become a customer as we were going to get the alarm serviced once the hall was decorated. Just going to have someone else come into install a new system or reconfigure the one that is in.
