Absolutely beautiful Country Park ! Spent hrs here on my first visit on boxing day 2018. Didn't want to leave. Lots of varied walks and stunning scenes. It's the closest I've been to the beautiful deer and horses. Also pigs, sheep and bird spotting. Information boards too with the history behind the Park.I'll be back at every opportunity. Although no toilet facilities that I could find so a bit of an inconvenience. Just be prepared if you drink lots of water !
History and wildlife, a big old castle and a modern new Visitor and education centre with a cafe. Beautiful nature Walks around the woods and two rivers trails. Free entrance and parking.Bring your camera.
First visit had looked at routes on website prior to going was totally lost at one point fortunately met another dog walker who told me I had to exit the park and walk along road and 're enter at a gate further down.as a lone women with her 2 dogs I felt it wasn't well signposted and I could have easily got lost at a number of point along route.i was lucky to meet a young couple later on as I was trying to make way back to car park and couldn't see any yellow direction signs.
Absolutely fantastic. For all the family. The lighting display was out of this world. Well worth the money. Going again next year.
Love this country park! So well maintained, maybe a bit short on parking spaces though. Castle was closed for refurbishment while we were there. Kids had a great time at the park and the trails are well maintained. Could maybe do with a few more picnic benches though.The deer enclosure is a great size and the deer seemed to have lots of space to roam. Can't wait to go back when the castle is open again
